JUDITH HILL’S SEPTEMBER NEWSLETTER

Hello Everyone,

I hope you have all had a delightful summer and are safe from the coming storm.

Today’s newsletter features fascinating chapter material from my latest book, and announces the upcoming September 21st workshop and book signing in Portland, Oregon.

It benefits modern astrologers to recall the energetic awareness of our predecessors. The book and workshop endeavor to encourage this awareness.

Please come help me celebrate my book release! The BOOK SIGNING is between 12:00-12:30.

LECTURE AND WORKSHOP - ALMOST HERE!

PREWORKSHOP LECTURE (SAME DAY) Saturday, September 21st, 10am-Noon.

MEDICAL ASTROLOGY IN ACTION

2110 NE 45th Avenue, Portland, Oregon (note change from previous venue. This is not the Friend’s Center.) Please register on the Oregon Astrological Association website. Limited seating. With workshop: $35 members/$50 nonmembers. Just the lecture: $10 members/ $15 non members. Please preregister to ensure that you have a seat. However, it is OK to pay cash at door.

Details:
Judith will expound upon the profoundly physical influences of the planets and demonstrate their medical influences in action. She will reveal visual proofs of this action, and discuss traditional remediations. We will share some fascinating chart samples (e.g. actress Jean Harlow’s kidney failure - could it have been prevented?). Cosmic influence as defined by planetary temperature, moisture and speed, is basic to all ancient branches of astrology. The “planetary energetic states” resonate through all levels of our being!

The transits of Saturn, Mars and the North and South Lunar Nodes are of particular interest to health. Although all planets exert their specific health-related imbalances. we will focus largely on these four (see workshop for detail on all planets).

Judith will be celebrating the release of her two new books (twins!), and available for signing: Medical Astrology for Medical Practitioners; and, Medical Astrology in Action: the Transits of Health.

“A physician without astrology is like a pudding without fat” - Nicholas Culpepper (1616-1664)

BOOK SIGNING and Celebration: 12:30-1PM. Two New Books!

WORKSHOP: 1PM-4PM

MEDICAL ASTROLOGY IN ACTION: REMEDIALS

2110 NE 45th Avenue, Portland, Oregon (note change from previous venue. This is not the Friend’s Center.). $35 members/$50 non members. For just the workshop: $25 members/$35 non members

REGISTRATION: The Oregon Astrological Association (I am not including the link because this could throw this announcement into your spam box!) The event and links are waiting on the OAA site. Limited seating - preregister soon. SUPER-AFFORDABLE! In support of the OAA, I’ve agreed to present this rare event for one fourth of my normal workshop fee!

Members: $25 lecture/ $35 workshop ($35 members/ $50 nonmembers for attendance at preliminary morning lecture.) Seating is limited. Preregister to insure your seat, but it’s OK to pay cash at door.

Entitled after Hill’s latest book, this rare workshop explores the physical effects of the planets, Lights and most especially, the transiting Lunar Nodes, and traditional remedials. Learn to time the onset and departure of planetary influences upon the body, and ancient methods to preempt them if necessary (stones, waters, nutrition, flower essences, herbs). Discover how to utilize transit Jupiter and Venus for assistance in surgical timing.

We will observe the charts of Bruce Lee, Betty Davis, and Amy Winehouse, in relation to their known health conditions. Attendees will become aware of the twelve medical quincunxes, and learn about this mysterious, yet preeminent health transit. If time permits, we will consider the Moon’s role as “the herbalist’s companion” in the timing of harvest, decoction and administration of traditionally potentized herbs, and the impact of the Sun’s essential yearly cycle upon natives of all signs.

NEPTUNE’S PHYSICAL INFLUENCES

CHAPTER EXAMPLE

Included for readership interest is the introductory discussion from Chapter 16 from my latest book: Medical Astrology in Action: The Transits of Health. All major planets, the Lights and both Lunar Nodes are provided similar discussion. Apologies for the paragraph layout style - for reasons unknown, I couldn’t get the newsletter to replicate with the book’s layout. In the text, sometimes, I refer to Neptune as “he” but please mentally insert any gender you please (or none). “He” just sounds more elegant than “it”. I am definitely sensitive to gender concerns and would prefer to avoid offending anyone! Ideas welcome.

NEPTUNE LEAKS, MISDIAGNOSIS Illustration here (in book) not shown

SUPERNATURAL INFLUENCES, CONCEALMENT , LEAKS
Properties, Rulerships and Actions

Rules: Co-ruler of Pisces (with Jupiter). This rulership was designated by astrological writers of the 20th century and is not accepted by all traditionalists.

The rulership system is an ancient and well-devised system in its own right, and thus, the unnecessary reassignment of planetary rulerships upsets the entire system. The same caveat also pertains to Neptune’s remaining dignities and debilities:

Exalted: Cancer
Detriment: Virgo
Fall: Capricorn
Metal: Aluminum (M. Uyldert) Minerals: Unknown Vitamins: Unknown

Gem & Cosmic Ray: Not established

Substances: Opioids, marijuana, alcohol

Body Rulership & Organ Affinities: Neptune’s organ affinities have not been definitively established. The great prophet and medical psychic Edgar Cayce stated that Neptune governs the “leyden” glands. He is unique in this viewpoint. Cornell assigned the spinal fluid to Neptune.

“The arterial stream is supreme but the cerebrospinal fluid is in command.” – W. G. Sutherland, DO

Temperature and Moisture Influence: Neptune’s 1846 discovery prevents us from sourcing earlier opinions regarding Neptune’s temperature effects upon the human organism. Astrologers didn’t know he existed.

Modern astrologers rate Neptune as “cold and wet” because of his obvious association with oceans and the cold-moist Water sign Pisces. However, Neptune’s actions are decisively relaxive, a quality antithetical to cold per se. Increasing cold acts to mass atoms more closely together, creating tension and shivering in the physical body.

Could Neptune be simultaneously cold and relaxing? Anoma- lies do exist in nature. For example, herbal stimulants are typically warming, although we do see an exception in the cooling stimulant Peppermint.

Although warmth is stimulating, it can just as easily be relaxing. Energetically speaking, hot-moist has some obviously relaxing effects, responsible for the popularity of hot tubs. Hot water stimulates while simultaneously relaxing the tissues. That being said, I opine that Neptune is warm and moist, because he manifests as magnetic, sleepy, relaxing, receptive, permeable and sexy!

Despite some thinking Neptune cold, there are in truth, few Neptunian maladies that manifest as physically cold. Sleepy, romantic energies are not cold. However, Neptune is draining to the vital force. As we noted in Chapter 6, Sol brings the heat of life, our essential vital force. Neptune appears thus to reduce the vital force through excessive laxity. This creates cold through default, quite in reverse of cold Saturn’s method.

Saturn is cold because his violet ray is cold. This concentrates atoms, producing tightness in the body. Conversely, Neptune causes cold because he drains away the vital force with diffused laxity, while not himself being cold! Drifting fog gives us the best feeling for Neptune.

Conversely, an argument in favor of cold temperature for Neptune might be Neptune’s association with sleep and coma. We think of dying as cold, and indeed the body grows frigid as life departs. However, frigidity per se is definitely not Neptune’s province!

Rather, Neptune is primarily diffusive in nature, signifying per- meability of consciousness. Perhaps no planet signifies psychic and/or physical permeability to the degree of Neptune, save the Moon, in some conditions.

However, Neptune’s permeability extends to the astral plane — that plane just above the physical in vibrational density. Neptune’s action is strongly involved in coma, psychism, sleep and astral projection. He blurs the boundaries between worlds through diffusion.

I’ve closely observed scores of folks born with Neptune either exactly rising or exactly conjunct their natal Sun. They are anything but cold! Sometimes remote, yes. Escapist, yes. Sometimes weak- willed and usually highly-sensitive.

Depressed? Oh, yes. But never emotionally cold, and they are so magnetically attractive, every one. Supported by the foregoing arguments, I offer that Neptune’s temperature is not consistent, but drifts according to element between warm-moist and tepid-moist. However, Neptune’s warmth is sleepy warmth, quite unlike the heat of booming Jupiter or lusty Mars.

General Action: Diffusive, permeating, draining, fatiguing, psychic, anesthetic and sleepy, Neptune veils symptoms and conceals patho- gens. He relieves pain, and governs anesthesia. His transit medical influence is primarily weakening, relaxing, sleepy, dreamy, seeping, sagging, fatiguing and draining.

Neptune transits open the psychic doors and can be hypnotic, highly magnetic, sexy, soothing and lazy. He enhances either hedonism or spirituality (all depending upon how one chooses to escape this reality). He confers psychic healing tips and enhances fantasy. This planet works well with vibrational remedies that adjust the astral body such as Bach Flower remedies, homeopathy, music therapy, color.

In the natal chart, Neptune is our proverbial Achilles heel, that irresistible siren of temptation, bliss and escape. Because his influence lowers the veil between the worlds, his transits are essential to note for those suffering mental illnesses involving involuntary clairaudience, clairvoyance, trance or fantasy.

Davidson states that Neptune’s position in the natal chart suggests a porousness of the etheric shield, inclined to the leakage of prana (vital force). This explains the vague and fatiguing impact of this planet upon the bodily regions of any sign it tenants, and upon the planets it aspects, either natally or by transit.

Neptune exerts a considerable influence upon memory extremes inclusive of photographic memory, reincarnation memory, forget- fulness and dementia. These extreme effects on memory are noted when Neptune is in a close-orb transit or natal relationship with the natal Sun, Moon, Mercury or Lunar Nodes.

Neptune has a strong association with unconsciousness, “being stoned,” and coma.

Neptune conceals things, making diagnosis difficult or faulty. Envision a slowly moving cloaking fog. Neptune rules misdiagnosis! EMF Field Issues: It is possible that Neptune rules magnetism (along with Venus). Uranus rules electricity. Both Neptune and Uranus are implicated in health problems arising from EMF (computers, cell phones, etc). Neptune contributes to cellular change and cell traveling, apparent in some cancers.

Hidden Entities and Poison: Neptune appears to govern viruses, molds and hidden, sneaky poisons in the air or water. In the natal chart, he can represent a region of lowered guard and greater permeability.

Supernatural Etiologies: Neptune is strongly associated with spirit attachments, ghosts, possession, past-life memories, clairvoyance and clairaudience. Medieval and Renaissance physicians considered “elf- shot” and other fairy-induced illness as legitimate etiologies.

Positive: Deep sleep, relaxed disposition, magnetism and soothing. Passively sexy. Neptune can bring angelic intervention and miraculous healings. With help from Neptune, psychic information and vibrational remedies can “save the day.” Dreams provide healing tips. Davidson and I have both independently noted the strangely lucky quality of Neptune (it’s amazing how often he dominates the charts of heirs to fortune, windfall recipients and jackpot winners).

Negative: Absorbs negativity from others or, conversely, drains positive charge from others! Presents as chronic, undiagnosed fatigue; fuzzy mind; disinclination to work or attend to worldly matters; weakness of body and/or mind; depression (“I can’t face the world!”); psychic boundary issues.

Transit Frame & Orb: Neptune’s transits are most strongly felt within an orb of 0-3°. Neptune can visit and revisit these few degrees for approximately two years (variable). Neptune’s “Sidereal period,” i.e. one completed revolution through the twelve tropical signs, is 164.79 tropical years. So we do not experience Neptune natal return.
