ASTROLOGICAL CHART READING SKILLS SALON A SUCCESS!
Our new experiment in teaching was a success, and a lot of fun too! Andrea Gehrz and I hosted "The Astrological Chart Reading Skills Salon” event on April 21st at a lovely local venue for a lively group of serious students eager to improve their chart reading skills.
We changed topics each hour:
“Read My Chart”; “Love & Relationships”; “The Lunar Nodes”; “Transits” and “Medical Astrology”. I was personally
delighted with the intelligent and fascinating questions our attendees placed in our little red mailbox.
Drawing down our long years of front lines consulting experience, we teachers took turns describing our personal approach to these questions.
This allowed the students to benefit from two minds. The coffee cake was great too. 98% of the class said they would return for more salons.

EARTHQUAKE WATCH
The first thing about earthquake predictions is that you hope you are wrong!
Many of you know that I spent a few years in the early 80’s in the statistical-astrological study of earthquakes with research partner Mark Polit, publishing our results in major research journals. Our collective works, and my subsequent works were published in the research compendium “Astro-seismology”.
It has now been decades since that time, but I recall enough to know that this month has every thing it needs to produce world class seismic events.
Currently, Sol transits through the “fixed earth” sign Taurus and moves to “square” and thus “trigger” several previous eclipse degrees (of ecliptic longitude) of the past year occurring in fellow fixed signs Leo and Aquarius. Adding to this notable magnetic pressure, Sol opposes a retrograde Jupiter in Scorpio on May 8th, whilst Uranus ingresses into earthquake prone sign Taurus on Tuesday, May 15th (in USA). To boot, Mars squares Uranus both before and immediately after this ingress. Taurus and Scorpio are both thought to be productive of huge earth movements.
The Sun triggers the eclipses of the last year by square aspect between April 30-May 3rd (giving a small orb); May 5-7 (corresponding with the current eruption of the Hawaiian volcano); May 13-23rd ( a large, permissible orb). This last listing seems potentially dangerous as the Sun triggers the famous total eclipse of August 21st, 2017 at 28.53˚ Leo and also its partial mirror-image eclipse of February 15th, 2018 at 27.08˚ Aquarius.
It is clear that an exceptional weight of pressure is developing across the fixed astrological cross, long associated with volcanism and seismicity. This weight will be repeated a few more times this year, notably August 21st-November 22nd, whence we find one repeating load of astrological seismic strain after another!
Although certainly not an exacting, well researched or official “prediction”, I could hypothesize that a M8 or above earthquake or major volcanic blow could occur between now and June 4th. At the very least, M7 plus. We could also see an increase in small quakes and "earthquake storms” when multiple tiny quakes occur over several days or weeks.
Where? That is a good question. If we had weeks to study the exact seismic patterns of many world regions, we could be more specific. Alas, the crush of work and life prevents me this study. However, the volcanic activity in Hawaii may provide a clue. So often consequent earthquakes occur paired in latitude bands across long distances around the “ring of fire”. Given maybe 5-10˚ degrees of latitude on either side of the Hawaiian event, we see this line runs through Baja California, parts of Mexico and across through Taiwan, moving just South of Japan (but near enough for trouble); near the Philippines and the Rukyu Islands, through parts of India, etc. If you hold a globe in your hand, it is easy to see the band for yourself. It is possible that we could see some significant activity in Southern California or Baja California in the next month.
Please do not run off saying that Judith Hill predicted an earthquake in California!
This is just a discussion. I do not know the exact place of an earthquake, or even if it will occur at all! And to reiterate the introductory sentence, we hope to be wrong.
Another technique is to note the “path of totality” of the eclipses occurring within 12 months previous (to now) across the globe. As the Sun-Jupiter opposition aligns at 90˚ (with large orb) to these original eclipse degrees, these earth regions receive more magnetic strain. Jupiter can do the all by itself!
Those living in earthquake and volcanic zones should be prepared and alert. Of course,
we should always be!
